Birthday Boy, Beach trip & Bo Pops

I know, I know...I am a TERRIBLE blogger. When you have an hour here and there it is really hard to actually want to sit down and do this when there's so much more to do. So, I'll keep it simple. In the past month we have celebrated a birthday, gone to the beach all the while watching our sweet baby Bo blossom into a wild little boy. He is a joy and changes every day. I love my time with him and enjoy watching his curious nature explore. He continues to be a blessing to all around him, including strangers. Bo will greet any strange person walking by him with the most Southern "hi" and a wave. Even the grouchiest person can't help but smile at his antics. Yes, he knows he is cute! So, here are some long overdue pictures!

Bo playing on his new "yard art". The first thing he did was scale the slide all the way to the platform...so much for growing into a toy!

At the Tennessee Aquarium...we have purchased a year membership. Bo LOVED the penguins, fish, and river otters. He was so interactive and showed us all the "baby signs" for the different animals---fish, bird, frog. It excites him to be able to communicate with us.

Let the party begin...we had lots of family over to celebrate! Bucky edited a sweet video of Bo's entire first year...it was AMAZING and so beautiful. There is great footage of Bucky's sweet grandmother who passed away this May---what a true treasure to have such sweet memories of her on tape.

A little cake (on my actual birthday).

My new firetruck from Papa Bruce, Gran & Emily! Loves it.
Presents...
Presents...

And a few more...so much for writing "no gifts, please" on the invitation!

And now, the beach...we went with our dear friends the Coopers. We had a great week and fortunately by-passed a hurricane at the same time!

Oh, and the Bo pops? Well, I thought I had the picture downloaded but I don't...I'll save it for next time! Enjoy or sweet little boy!

Is it really July?????

I have NO IDEA where the past month has gone!!! This month Bucky celebrated his first Father's day, we continued our pursuit of settling into our Chattanooga life, made our 2nd beach trip with Bo, and watched our sweet boy grow. I wish I could freeze time most days. Bo is a crawling, "cruising", pointing, laughing, food throwing, happy, WILD MAN! Our new favorite word is ACTIVE. He is so skinny and I really have no idea how to add any weight to a boy that is on-the-move every moment he's awake.

Here are a few pictures:
Father's Day at the Creative Discovery Museum (plus a few extra pictures)

And the Beach with Bucky's family...we had a great time. Thanks Papa Bruce!

Move, Unpack, Breakdown

I can not believe that we are already in our new home in Chattanooga. It has been a crazy weekend of moving boxes, unpacking boxes, and breaking down boxes. I could sum up our story over the past couple of months and especially this past weekend in those three words...move, upack, breakdown. This move to Chatt. has been a walk of faith for us. I prayed and began listening for direction months ago and I felt that the Lord was calling me closer to home (Dalton, Ga.) After we began to discuss that "move" with each other it was not until we moved out in faith that Christ began to "unpack" what plans that he had for us. We thought that we had decided on Dalton and so we began moving that way by considering buying a house, looking at job opportunities and disussing the move with family and friends. As I moved to tell PharmMD (the company I work for) of my plans for leaving, a new story began to be "unpacked". I was offered to work from a home office doing the same thing that I am doing now. At the same time moving "home" for me was not the physical location of Dalton, GA, but the call that has developed in my heart over the past 3 years to be involved in the ministry of reconciliation through counseling. This led me to apply to PSI, a school located in Chattanooga that offers a masters in professional couseling by integrating the fields of theology and psychology. Now that location (Chattanooga), job, and school have been "unpacked" before our very eyes the only thing left is "breakdown". Just like the boxes that are laying in our driveway, we are broken down people, flattened and ready for use. It is the great Potter takes the broken clay and forms it for use. Our prayer is that Christ would take these broken boxes and assemble them for use in His Kingdom work in Chattanooga by the pouring out of our lives into relationships so that some might come to know our great King.

Change

New Home...

New Diapers...
Our home is full of change! For those of you that haven't heard our family will be moving to Chattanooga, TN. Bucky will be going back to school to pursue a masters in counseling at Psychological Studies Institute while working from home with his company, PharmMD. We will close on our first house next week and are excited at the same time sad for all we will leave here in Nashville. However, we know that God's good hand is in this and on our family as we make this move.

And, yes, I have finally made the switch to cloth diapering. When I expressed my interest and curiousity about using cloth, Bucky suggested I filter my interest into recycling if I were so environmentally inclined. Well, after 4-5 months of successful recycling he finally gave in and we have made the switch. Let me say, this is not nearly as dramatic as everyone wants it to be. It really is not much different than disposables except for a few extra laundry loads. And I have to say, there are some stinkin' cute diapers out there. I'm doubting Bo will be sporting much more this summer than a shirt and a diaper (we're rarely in clothes normally).

I hope that as life settles in for us we will be able to manage our blog a little more. We are truly blessed with a happy little boy. Feel free to visit us in Chattanooga starting next week!!!
